Da ‘Ville – a custom wooden baseball ballpark
I am proud to announce the release of ballpark prototype #1 – Da ‘Ville. A Wrigley inspired ballpark.
About “Da ‘Ville”
Da ‘Ville is the first of possibly four custom wooden baseball ballpark prototypes that I will be making available for purchase. Obviously inspired by my favorite ballpark Wrigley Field.
It is made out of various types of wood, cork and model railroad materials. The base is made out of a MDF material and has cork adhered to it to give the dice some bounce and to deaden some noise. The grass is model railroad grass and the lines are white paint. The bleachers are also made out of various types of wood and painted with a durable spray paint. Signage on all of my stadiums are printed on an index type paper and adhered with glue and/or Spray Mount.
Utmost care is taken while building the structure to make sure that it is durable and can handle the rigors of shipping while also trying to make sure the unit is light enough to ship without high shipping costs.
Disclaimer – all of my ballparks are hand made by me. I am not a master craftsman, I am a hobbyist at best. For this reason, each ballpark will be unique and have it’s own slight imperfections. The final version made available for sale will differ slightly from the version shown in the images.
The images are just of the prototype. A lot of trial and error went into this with new and different materials used for the first time. I plan on posting images of a 100% completed build in the near future. The images listed on this page show the build approximately 90% complete.
I plan on having this ballpark available for purchase some time in March of 2016.
